The function of the product separator is to separate the liquid product mixed in the raw gas, that is to say, the liquid is not separated, the product is not produced. Typical product separator such as: ammonia separator in synthetic ammonia system.
Since each reaction of raw gas cannot be complete, the generated ammonia and unreacted raw gas are mixed together. After passing through the cooler, most of the gas ammonia turns into liquid ammonia. After passing through the separator, the raw gas continues to react after being lifted and pressed by the compressor.
If the separation efficiency is increased by 1%, the ammonia production is increased by 1%, the power consumption of the compressor is reduced by 1%, and the impetus of the ammonia tower reaction is increased by 1%. Generally, the cost of increasing the separation efficiency by 1% is only equivalent to the electricity cost saved by the compressor in half a year.
